The Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine
The UCLA Occupational and Environmental Medicine Program provides occupational, environmental, and preventive medicine services for Southern California. These include:
- On-campus clinical consultations emphasizing toxicology, occupational lung disease, medical fitness evaluation, and other areas
- Field and workplace consulting services for program design and evaluation

- Beryllium Program
Occupational-Environmental Medicine Clinic at UCLA
The on-campus clinic emphasizes evaluation of complex cases. The clinic is staffed by UCLA faculty and residents, and every patient is examined by a faculty member. Our clinicians and staff have detailed understanding of the terminology and regulations of California and its Workers' Compensation laws.
We recognize the importance of effective and timely communication with patients, employers, insurers and others. A designated program coordinator is available to facilitate timely communication of this sensitive, confidential information.

Beryllium Program
The UCLA Occupational Lung Disease Program offers a comprehensive approach to beryllium related health problems. Clinical evaluations are available for individuals with beryllium sensitization or disease. In addition, the UCLA Beryllium Program offers expertise in Screening Program Design & Evaluation, Exposure Reviews, Data Analysis, and Medical-Legal Consultation. Research interests include decision modeling, epidemiology, exercise physiology, and imaging.
