UCLA Data & Safety Monitoring Board for Addiction Medicine
The purpose of the UCLA Data and Safety Monitoring Board for Addiction Medicine (DSMBAM) is to provide oversight and monitoring of Phase I and Phase II clinical trials of pharmacological and behavioral treatments for stimulant dependence. There are three fundamental charges of the board, which are:
- To ensure the safety of trial participants
- To preserve validity and integrity of research data
- To facilitate the availabilty of timely as well as reliable finding to the broader clinical community
Meetings
The DSMBAM meets four times a year on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December). However, the meeting frequency of a particular review committee varies depending on the nature of the trial. Additional meeting and/or teleconferences are scheduled when necessary to provide adequate monitoring.
