Health and Retirement
University retirement plan (UCLA's Defined Contribution Plan)
All health benefits are fully paid by UCLA for residents and their families. For more detailed information please refer to the UCLA Graduate Medical Education website.
- PGYI - $700
- PGYII - $300
- PGYIII - $300
The residents are eligible for free DEA during their training (savings of $551.00).
The residents have a chance to attend multiple conferences at no cost or receive stipends from the department to offset the cost.
- Relocation Allowance
The UCLA GME office pays for up to $2500.00 in relocation assistance.
- Free Parking
Parking at all medical centers is fully paid by the residency office (savings of $68.00 per month).
- Two Residency Retreats
All residents are excused to attend two retreats each year:
- Fall Retreat – one day retreat, usually takes place at the end of September at the program director's house
- Winter Retreat – two day retreat, usually takes place over a weekend in January at various locations in the Southern California
